We were all sooo very excited to walk for the first time in memory of Brody. We released blue and white balloons, after Leah (one of Brody's Big Sisters) said a beautiful prayer!! We heard many stories of why the other teams were walking.... There was one team from Publix that was walking not for anyone particular, but because it is just a AWESOME cause!! This was a very heart felt event!!! We can NOT wait to get started for next year!!!
READY......GET SET...... AND WE ARE OFF........ even though I have lived in Covington for many years, on this walk I saw a few things that I have never noticed before (like a fresh fruit stand... that I will definitely be going back too) oooo and a new Sweet Treat shop!! The cakes looked wonderful.... but of course I am a die hard BABY CAKES fan sooo I will just have to look....lol
YAY!! YAY!! YAY!!!! Everyone did great!! .....and made it to the finish line, see the purple and white balloon arch??? and the white van blocking it??? well the white van just helped a few make it to the finish line!! ( FYI....no one on our team used the van), just as long as you got there right!!! It was a BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!
I will have to get pics from another team member (my Dad) that actually got a pic of the releasing of the balloons....it was a special moment!
